Hello all,

A few things have happened, I guess I should've posted it sooner but let's start with the good news.

===

First thing.

I am apart of a comics team and we have a crowd funding campaign. The comic were making is called "The Saga of the Jack of Spades" and it's currently on IndieGoGo. We just made 40% funding but we still need help getting to our goal. I'm doing the lettering and I created the title graphic for the series.

Sharing the story is the best way of helping if you cannot help back the comic. If you are doing both, you are a super hero.
Check it on on IndieGoGo here--> www.indiegogo.com/projects/the…

===

Second thing.

I'm retiring from conventions. Boothing at and in some way, going to as a patron. There will be exceptions but next year I plan on not going to all of the conventions and just pick one or two to go to.

In short, I'm being out paced and its time to stop stressing over something that should be making me happy when in fact it is making me sad. I still love being creative and drawing but it's time to stop. I'll come back to cons if I am promoting something like the comic I am working on but to come back to the artist alley is not in the future. Its only a bit sad, I'm not sad though. I'm happy.

To all the fans and friends, thank you for being there with me. I will continue to post artwork to this account when I can but don't expect barrages.

Third thing.

Since I am retiring, my last con is Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo. I will be in the Artist Alley and I will update this blog along with my main blog with location details etc. Everything will be discounted heavily with exceptions to my one and only new product which is one of a kind 3"in buttons. More details later on those, I'm drawing more for the EdExpo.

I may do Pop Culture Fair later this year but I have yet to decide on that.

And well, that's it. Everything that needs to be said. Above all, please visit our IndieGoGo campaign. We really want it to be a success and continue on with the rest of the issues. It's a cool story, read about it if you have a moment.

I'll post again soon.

Melinda May by ginchan
Melinda May
Finally did a piece on my fav agent May. Been trying to finish this up for a while, finally got around to it. Gotta work on my timing better.

I'm still not happy with the face, I feel like it looks like Ming Na but could be more close. I think that delayed me from coloring it but I figured I should finish it regardless of whether it resembled the actor more than just finishing.

Read more about it on my blog smooniegoestohell.blogspot.ca/…

Melinda May is a character from Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, portrayed onscreen by Ming Na Wen.

Yay! I did something topical/popular. I really enjoyed drawing Colin Firth, he has an incredibly interesting face. I highly recommend giving it a shot if just to research him.

I was trying to find a slightly higher level in the new style. Don't know if I can keep carrying it on or pulling it up to another level without having to do more pencil work. Still more work to do.

Thomas Lennon's "Felix Unger" from The Odd Couple

The weirdest part about drawing Lennon was he didn't start looking like him until I colored him in. It was weird but fun. His work on midnight makes me want to watch Reno 911! It's probably my kind of show. I should look it up.

Yvette Nicole Brown's "Danielle" from The Odd Couple

Drew YNB's new character from her new sitcom. I've loved her since Community and really do hope that if they make a Community movie, she gets invited back. Always found her character endearing. Getting to see her play Dani is great too. She still hits all her queues.
